Website/App: docket.tax

Operator: Tax Docket Pro LLC ("Docket.tax," "Company," "we," "us," or "our")

Contact: support@docket.tax

IMPORTANT: No Government Affiliation

Docket.tax is operated by Tax Docket Pro LLC, a private company. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, operated by, sponsored by, or associated with the United States Tax Court, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the U.S. Department of Justice, or any federal, state, or local government agency.

The U.S. Tax Court has its own official docket system at dawson.ustaxcourt.gov. Docket.tax is an independent tool that sources data from publicly available court records and should never be used as a substitute for monitoring the official court docket. All information must be independently verified.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Docket.tax website, application, dashboard, docket monitoring tools, newsletters, alerts, artificial-intelligence-enabled features, data tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, subscribing to a paid plan, starting a free trial, clicking to accept these Terms, or otherwise using docket.tax, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Services.

1. The Services

Docket.tax provides tools intended to help users monitor, review, search, summarize, and receive alerts regarding publicly available docket information, including information related to the United States Tax Court and related legal or tax controversy matters. The Services may include, among other things:

  • Daily or weekly newsletters
  • Docket tracking and docket-change alerts
  • Dashboard-based docket monitoring
  • Search, categorization, tagging, and organization tools
  • Artificial-intelligence-enabled summaries, extractions, recommendations, or data analysis
  • Email notifications
  • Other features we may add, modify, or remove from time to time

The Services are provided for informational and workflow-support purposes only.

2. No Legal, Tax, or Professional Advice

Docket.tax is not a law firm, accounting firm, or professional advisory firm. The Services do not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, or other professional advice. No attorney-client relationship, accountant-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, agency relationship, or other professional relationship is created by your use of the Services.

You are solely responsible for independently verifying all information, docket entries, alerts, summaries, deadlines, filings, court orders, and other outputs from the Services. You should consult qualified legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advisors before relying on any information obtained through the Services.

3. No Guarantee of Completeness, Accuracy, or Timeliness

The Services may rely on publicly available information, third-party systems, court websites, APIs, scraping, automated processes, third-party vendors, user-provided information, and artificial intelligence or machine-learning tools. We do not guarantee that any information provided through the Services is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Docket information may change without notice. Alerts may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or not delivered. You remain solely responsible for monitoring official sources, including court dockets and filing systems, and for complying with all applicable deadlines and obligations.

CRITICAL WARNING: This tool will make mistakes and is not a replacement for the official United States Tax Court docket available at dawson.ustaxcourt.gov. All information and outputs must be independently verified and tracked. Do not rely on this tool as a substitute for the official United States Tax Court docket. Calendar entries in the app are partially AI-generated and therefore are potentially incorrect. This is a reference tool and is not intended as a replacement for adequate deadline tracking for any purpose.

4. User Accounts

To access certain Services, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep that information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity occurring under your account.

You must promptly notify us at support@docket.tax if you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services. By using the Services on behalf of an organization, firm, company, agency, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

6. Subscriptions, Free Trials, Fees, and Billing

Some Services may be offered for free, on a free-trial basis, or through paid subscription plans. Subscription features, usage limits, trial periods, pricing, and billing intervals may be described on our website, checkout page, order form, or other written materials.

By purchasing a subscription or starting a paid plan, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for all applicable fees, taxes, and charges. Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable.

We may change our pricing, plans, features, usage limits, or billing practices from time to time. Any material pricing change will apply prospectively unless otherwise disclosed.

7. Stripe Payment Processing and Stripe Services Agreement

Payments for the Services may be processed through Stripe or one or more Stripe affiliates. By purchasing paid Services, submitting payment information, or otherwise using Stripe-enabled payment functionality, you agree that payment processing may be subject to Stripe's applicable terms, including the Stripe Services Agreement available at https://stripe.com/legal/ssa and any other Stripe terms, policies, or disclosures applicable to the transaction or payment method.

The Stripe Services Agreement and applicable Stripe terms are incorporated into these Terms by reference to the extent applicable to your payment, checkout, subscription, billing, dispute, refund, or payment-method activity. Docket.tax is not responsible for Stripe's services, systems, acts, omissions, fees, errors, outages, chargebacks, payment holds, or other payment-processing issues except to the extent required by applicable law.

You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and authorize Docket.tax, Stripe, and their respective service providers to process payments, recurring subscription charges, taxes, failed-payment retries, refunds, chargebacks, and related payment activity.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription by emailing support@docket.tax and requesting cancellation.

Unless otherwise stated in writing or required by law, cancellation will stop future renewals, and your access to the paid Services will expire at the end of your then-current subscription term. We are not required to provide a refund or credit for any unused portion of the current term unless required by applicable law or expressly agreed by us in writing.

We may require reasonable information to verify your account before processing a cancellation request. You are responsible for submitting cancellation requests sufficiently in advance of renewal to allow us a reasonable opportunity to process them.

9. User Content and Information Submitted to the Platform

"User Content" means any information, data, text, files, docket numbers, case information, party names, counsel information, notes, tags, comments, prompts, queries, uploaded materials, account information, billing information, or other materials that you submit, enter, upload, transmit, store, or otherwise provide to or through the Services.

You retain any rights you have in your User Content. However, by submitting User Content to the Services, you grant Docket.tax a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, process, reproduce, display, transmit, analyze, modify, create derivative works from, and otherwise use User Content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, improve, develop, and operate the Services; comply with law; enforce these Terms; prevent fraud or misuse; and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

Your use of the Services and our collection, use, disclosure, and handling of information are also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://docket.tax/PrivacyPolicy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Important Warning Regarding Confidentiality, Privilege, and Sensitive Information

You should not submit, upload, enter, or transmit confidential, privileged, protected, sealed, restricted, sensitive, proprietary, personal, client, taxpayer, return, return-information, health, financial, or other non-public information into the Services unless you have independently determined that doing so is lawful, appropriate, authorized, and consistent with your professional, ethical, contractual, and legal obligations.

Information inputted into, uploaded to, transmitted through, stored in, processed by, or generated through the Services is not protected from disclosure by Docket.tax by attorney-client privilege, work-product doctrine, tax-practitioner privilege, accountant-client privilege, confidentiality doctrine, common-interest doctrine, joint-defense doctrine, or any other evidentiary, legal, professional, or ethical privilege merely because it is submitted to or processed by the Services.

Docket.tax is not your attorney, law firm, accountant, tax advisor, agent, or professional advisor. Communications with Docket.tax or use of the Services do not create an attorney-client relationship, work-product protection, tax-practitioner privilege, or any other privileged or protected relationship.

You acknowledge and agree that User Content may be disclosed, accessed, produced, or made available in accordance with our Privacy Policy, these Terms, applicable law, legal process, subpoena, court order, governmental request, regulatory request, security review, vendor processing, system administration, account support, or other circumstances described in these Terms or our Privacy Policy.

You are solely responsible for determining whether any User Content may be lawfully and appropriately submitted to the Services and for obtaining all necessary permissions, consents, authorizations, and approvals.

11. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Outputs

The Services may include artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, automated extraction, summarization, categorization, or analytical tools. AI-generated or automated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, outdated, biased, or unsuitable for your intended use.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and independently verifying any AI-generated or automated output before relying on it. You should not rely on AI-generated outputs as a substitute for reviewing official docket records, court filings, court orders, statutes, regulations, rules, professional guidance, or advice from qualified professionals.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: This tool will make mistakes and is not a replacement for the official United States Tax Court docket available at dawson.ustaxcourt.gov.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, or abusive purpose
  • Violate any applicable law, court rule, ethical obligation, professional responsibility rule, confidentiality obligation, contractual obligation, or third-party right
  • Upload or submit information that you do not have the right to submit
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services
  • Circumvent usage limits, billing systems, access controls, or security measures
  • Use the Services to develop, train, or improve a competing product or service without our written permission
  • Resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or provide unauthorized access to the Services
  • Introduce malware, harmful code, automated attacks, or unauthorized bots
  • Use the Services in a manner that could damage Docket.tax, its users, vendors, infrastructure, reputation, or legal interests
  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, authority, or account information

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these Terms or used the Services in a manner that creates legal, security, operational, or reputational risk.

13. Third-Party Services and Data Sources

The Services may rely on, link to, integrate with, or display information from third-party services, public websites, court systems, APIs, email providers, payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, artificial-intelligence providers, and other vendors.

We do not control third-party systems and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, legality, content, policies, acts, omissions, or failures. Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.

14. Intellectual Property

The Services, including software, code, designs, interfaces, workflows, dashboards, databases, compilations, models, prompts, documentation, branding, trademarks, logos, text, graphics, and other materials, are owned by Docket.tax or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Services for your internal business or personal purposes during the applicable subscription term.

Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit the Services.

15. Feedback

If you provide comments, suggestions, ideas, feature requests, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant Docket.tax a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use that feedback for any purpose without compensation, attribution, or obligation to you.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree to our Privacy Policy, available at https://docket.tax/PrivacyPolicy.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding your use of the Services, these Terms govern your contractual obligations, and the Privacy Policy governs our handling of personal information except where these Terms expressly state otherwise.

17. Security

We may use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the Services. However, no system is completely secure. We do not guarantee that the Services, User Content, account information, or other data will be immune from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, corruption, or misuse.

You are responsible for using appropriate security measures, including strong passwords, account controls, access management, and limiting the information you submit to the Services.

18. Confidentiality

To the extent you receive non-public information from Docket.tax that is marked confidential or reasonably should be understood as confidential, you agree to use reasonable care to protect it and not disclose it except as necessary to use the Services or as required by law.

This confidentiality provision does not make User Content privileged, protected from disclosure, or immune from legal process, and it does not create any attorney-client, work-product, tax-practitioner, fiduciary, or professional relationship.

19. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if we believe:

  • You violated these Terms
  • Your account creates legal, security, operational, payment, reputational, or compliance risk
  • Your payment method fails or fees are past due
  • Continued access may harm Docket.tax, users, third parties, vendors, or public systems
  • Required by law, court order, governmental authority, vendor requirement, or third-party platform policy
  • The Services are discontinued

Upon termination or expiration, your right to access the Services will cease. Certain provisions will survive termination, including provisions relating to fees, User Content, privilege warnings, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and any other terms that by their nature should survive.

20. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL IDENTIFY ALL DOCKET ACTIVITY, SEND ALL ALERTS, OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, PREVENT DATA LOSS, MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR PRODUCE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE RESULTS.

21. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCKET.TAX AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, VENDORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, ENHANCED, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS; LOST REVENUE; LOST BUSINESS; LOSS OF GOODWILL; LOSS OF DATA; MISSED DEADLINES; PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY; MALPRACTICE CLAIMS; COURT SANCTIONS; CLIENT CLAIMS; OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO DOCKET.TAX FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some limitations may not apply to you.

22. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Docket.tax and its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, vendors, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, expenses, penalties, fines, and fees, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Services

  • Your reliance on the Services or outputs from the Services
  • Your submission of confidential, privileged, protected, restricted, or sensitive information to the Services

23. Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes, duties, assessments, or governmental charges associated with your purchase or use of the Services, except for taxes based on our net income. We may collect applicable taxes where required or permitted by law.

24. Changes to the Services or Terms

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or replace any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website or made available through the Services. The updated Terms will become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services and may cancel your subscription by emailing support@docket.tax.

25. Electronic Communications

You consent to receive communications from us electronically, including by email, through the Services, or by posting notices on our website. Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing to the extent permitted by law.

26. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

27. Dispute Resolution; Venue

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

At our option, we may require informal good-faith negotiations before either party files a lawsuit. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief to protect intellectual property, confidential information, security, or unauthorized access.

28. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, financing, or by operation of law.

29. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, hosting failures, payment-processor failures, vendor outages, cyberattacks, government action, court-system outages, changes in law, or public emergencies.

30. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

31. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce that provision or any other provision later.

32. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, any order form, checkout terms, subscription terms, and incorporated third-party terms including applicable Stripe terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Docket.tax regarding the Services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings.
